PROJECT INFORMATION

For the opening sequence of *Confessions*, directed by Tetsuya Nakashima, I wanted to create something that was both unforgettable and visually intense.
The idea was to use a lot of slow-motionshots—things like blood splatter, abusive slogans, close-ups of characters' eyes, and various props—to blend beauty with horror.
In the school setting, I used red wool to mimic the flow of blood. The camera followed this “blood” as it wound its way through different parts of the school.
Along the path, you’d catch glimpses of eerie details like cold bathroom faucets, murder weapons, bloodstains, and even a diary. The contrast between the unsettling bloodstains and the warm, everyday school environment was meant to be jarring, leaving a lasting impression.

PROPOSAL

The 2010 Japanese film *Confessions*, directed by Tetsuya Nakashima, is based on Kana Minato's suspense novel of the same name.
The story kicks off when the main character, Moriguchi Yuko, finds out her beloved child was murdered in the school swimming pool.
At first, it’s ruled an accident, but during a class session, she drops a bombshell: she knows the killer is one of the students.
This revelation stuns the class and sets off a chilling revenge plan. The twist? She brings HIV-infected blood into the mix, sending everyone into a spiral of fear and panic.
